Last week, we sent a boiler feed water pump to our client in Portugal. It will replace the old boiler pump in their factory. The old pump sets are also from us, which was delivered 2 years ago. Now after 2 year’s smooth operation, our client decided to overhaul the old one and bought a new pump to instead it during this period.

 

The boiler feed water pump is centrifugal, horizontal water pump, multistage type. The material of the main parts are cast steel, which are very strong to bear the high pressure and high temperature from the boiler water system. Here are the main data of this green pump:

Normally, the inlet and outlet of DG boiler feed water pump are vertical as the photo. The suction casing, stage casing and discharge casing, bearing housing etc. parts are connected into the whole piece by the tension bolts.

 

The whole rotor assembly is supported by rolling bearings or sliding bearings at both ends. The rolling bearing is lubricated with grease, while the sliding bearing is lubricated with oil, self lubricated with oil ring and cooled with circulating water.

 

There are two types of shaft seals for the bolier feed water pump: mechanical seal and gland packing seal.  Gland packing seal is lower cost but will have leakage, which mechanical seal has perfect seal but need carefully attention while installation. A replaceable shaft sleeve is installed at the shaft seal to protect the pump shaft.

 

The boiler feed pump is generally directly driven by the motor through the elastic coupling. From the direction of the motor, the pump rotates clockwise.
